The front nine follows the valley of the Pigeon River, with peaks like Sugar Top and Rocky Face in view. The back nine reveals dramatic ridges and distant Cold Mountain panoramas. A defining feature is Hole 13, the notorious “Springdale Spasm”—a lengthy par‑4 (approx. 431–476 yards) that demands a precise tee shot away from bunkers and a nerve-testing approach over creek and out-of-bounds terrain. It reflects the course’s reputation for combining strategy and scenic thrill.
