The Cliffs at Walnut Cove

Harvesting the best of living.

Asheville’s only gated golf community introduces a new release of home sites truly connected to the bounty of the land.

The Cliffs at Walnut Cove is known far and wide as one of the best communities in the Western Carolinas, renowned for its Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course and The Cliffs exceptional way of life. In fact Walnut Cove was just named “Best Luxury Golf and Wellness Community” by Private Mountain Communities. Walnut Cove is located in popular South Asheville, just 15 minutes from downtown and only three miles from Biltmore Park Town Square with all of its shopping and dining opportunities.  But, pass through the gate, and you enter a different world inspired by the ageless villages of Europe — immaculately tended, serenely quiet, where nature’s beauty reigns supreme.

And soon, The Cliffs at Walnut Cove will unveil a new “Agri-hood” with roots as old as time.

This 1,600-acre community is cradled in a natural amphitheater bordered by the Pisgah National Forest and the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. The magnificent and well-established amenities include an Old World style Club Village with a golf shop and the Clubhouse Tavern with pub, dining hall and terrace dining.

The 18,000 sq. ft. Wellness Center offers indoor and outdoor swimming, Har-Tru tennis, state-of-the-art fitness facilities and classes by The Cliffs expert staff.  There are 6.5 miles of manicured trails to explore connecting the community’s private parks and wildflower meadows, meandering by cascading waterfalls and through rhododendron forests. Life in this community is rich and full, but as a member here, there is so much more.

An extraordinary membership times seven

The Cliffs at Walnut Cove membership offers full access to the amenities at all seven of The Cliffs Communities that span from Asheville, NC to Greenville, SC, including three lake communities on Lake Keowee.  The quality of these amenities is truly amazing.

And the range of options is unmatched, including nationally-acclaimed golf, club facilities, wellness centers, equestrian center, hiking trails, and a full-service marina. More than 6,000 club events are celebrated within the gates of the seven communities.

The Cliffs lifestyle promotes lifelong learning and the opportunity for wellness of mind and body. On-staff instruction in fitness, nutrition, culinary arts, wine and organic farming keep members engaged and involved.

What’s New at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove? Creekside Farm – a new agri-hood that has deep roots in the appreciation of nature.

Built on sunshine, rain and the belief that the best of life comes from the ground up, Creekside Farm at Walnut Cove is a new property release of 18 home sites of .5 to 1.5 acres overlooking a 60-acre working farm that has stood here for more than one hundred years.

The homes built at Creekside Farm will highlight beautiful views of pastoral splendor and a lifestyle of sharing it all with friends and family. Many of the home sites will also feature views of the signature Nicklaus golf course, giving residents a beautiful selection of greenery from all outlooks.

Creekside Farm is all about connecting to nature and a traditional farming lifestyle that harkens back to a day when people knew their neighbors, their local growers and where their food, their very sustenance, originated. The old barn, circa 1932, adds to the authenticity of the community and hosts the weekly farmers market, where you can pick up fresh produce while  visiting with neighbors.

Walnut Cove’s Community Supported Agriculture program is hugely popular here, and The Cliffs has set aside acreage in support of the program.  Residents revel in a natural and healthy way of life knowing they are helping to support keep local farming tradition alive and well in Western North Carolina. This is a place where cows roam free grazing in green pastures. Kids, grand kids and resident “settlers” do as well.

Mark your calendar. You’re invited to The Cliffs at Walnut Cove Fall Festival and Oyster Fest.

The Cliffs at Walnut Cove invite you to experience The Cliffs Life during one of its most popular events of the year. October 13 to 15 marks the Fall Festival where you can explore the new property release at Creekside Farm. Real estate and farm tours will be offered throughout the weekend.

Friday night, join in a member-hosted cocktail party and on Saturday night join members for some serious oyster shucking and camaraderie at Oyster Fest. Private Mountain Communities can help you arrange a Discovery Weekend or set up reservations for the evening events.

We highly recommend that you take advantage of this opportunity to explore this unusual neighborhood. The popularity of agri-hood neighborhoods, the limited number of spectacular home sites and the fact that Creekside Farm lies within a The Cliffs gated community, makes this a very rare find.

Meet a few of the neighbors at Walnut Cove. Get a taste for the welcoming spirit they share, their passion for life and the life at Walnut Cove.
